Breyer Ideal Orren Mixer Appaloosa
This Breyer Ideal Orren Mixer Appaloosa model is the fourth in the Ideal Series, following the AQHA, Paint, and Palomino models. The Breyer Ideal Series pays homage to the artwork of renowned equine artist Orren Mixer (1920-2008) and his famed “ideal” horse breed paintings. Over the course of Mixer’s career, seven horse breed associations commissioned him to paint their breed’s ideal. These images have cemented Mixer’s place as one of history’s preeminent equine artists.

The Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) commissioned Orren Mixer to paint a portrait, which featured a chestnut blanket Appaloosa stallion. The landscape painting features mares and foals with a variety of the breed's coat colors and patterns. The 1981 painting still hangs in the ApHC’s offices in Moscow, Idaho. The Ideal Appaloosa image now joins the Breyer herd as a stunning Limited Edition collectable.
