We are currently seeking a motivated, organized, and experienced Floor Manager to lead and support our retail team. This position oversees operations for sales and cashier departments and will report directly to the GM. The ideal candidate is a horse person with a talent for Managing Operations and customer service with significant people management experience. This full-time leadership role is best suited for someone with strong administrative abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proactive, dependable work ethic.

Position Details:
- Schedule: 40 hours/week, including weekends and variable days, OT as needed
- Compensation: $25/hour to start, with review at 120 days; bonus eligibility after 90 days
- Interviews begin immediately
Core Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership & Coaching
- Manage, train, and coach a sales team of up to 7 associates. You will oversee 1 sales supervisor and 1 casher supervisor.
- Collaborate with and lead 2 other Floor Managers to track and improve individual performance metrics
- Recruit, train, and mentor store managers and retail sales staff.
- Responsible for maintaining and reinforcing the desired company culture in respect to performance, goals, operations and customer care in alignment with GM guidance.
- Foster a positive, high-performance team culture focused on customer service and accountability.
- Provide clear goals, constructive feedback, and ongoing support
- Assist in hiring, on-boarding, and team development
- Participate in staff counseling and terminations as needed
- Ensure consistent execution of company policies, standards, and procedures.
Store Operations
- Open and close the store; ensure readiness for daily operations
- Oversee daily sales floor activities including merchandising, restocking, and customer service
- Cross train to serve as backup for cashiers and sales.
- Create and manage bi-weekly sales and cashier staff schedules
- Ensure store policies, safety protocols, and cleanliness standards are upheld.
Customer Experience
- Make it a goal for every customer experience to be welcoming and supportive in the spirit of Mary’s Tack Culture.
- Handle escalated customer concerns and resolve complex issues effectively and with urgency.
- Model and enforce best practices for customer interactions
Communication & Reporting
- Work with the GM to implement operational and promotional strategies
- Maintain confidentiality with proprietary or sensitive information
- Liaise with the GM & the Buying Department to report product trends and staff/customer feedback
- Align store performance with company goals; directly report to GM

The role of a Mary’s Tack and Feed sales associate is to help our customers make purchasing decisions that ensure their satisfaction and repeat business. Mary's Tack and Feed sales associates do this by creating a uniquely satisfying experience that involves providing customers with accurate product knowledge, an enthusiastic appreciation for the horse and its industry, and contributing to a clean, convenient shopping environment.
An ideal candidate has leadership qualities, thoroughly enjoys working with and helping people, listens well, smiles easily, has lots of energy, and a thirst for equestrian knowledge.
Experience with horses either riding or caring for them or both is important! Retail experience is a plus but not necessary. Product knowledge training is provided. A full-time sales associate will be required to work 35-40 hours per week, must be available to work Saturdays and/or Sundays.

Requirements:
- Have a strong love for horses and equestrian sports
- Must be at least 18
- Must have reliable transportation. This job is NOT remote.
- Must be able to work any of the seven days of the week as the schedule does not fluctuate.
- Must be able to work weekends.
- Must be Punctual with reliable transportation.
- Be ready to work on your feet as this is not a desk job and involves going up and down stairs.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy interacting with customer's.
- Being physically present is an essential function of the job. There is no remote work for this position.
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds as this job requires stocking and moving of merchandise.
- Must be willing to do light cleaning and vacuuming.
- Must be comfortable working with customers in person and over the phone.
- Spanish speaking is a valuable skill but not mandatory.
- Comfortable around friendly dogs that may visit the store.
- Versatile and able to shift with the demands of the store as the traffic and priorities of the day shift.

Full Time Cashier Position (36-40 HRS/WK) -- Part Time Considered (20-28 hours)
Mary's Tack & Feed in Del Mar, CA, is currently recruiting for a full time Cashier. The successful candidate must love working with people all day long, have strong equestrian experience, a friendly outgoing personality. Excellent communication and organizational skills, a keen attention to details and basic computer skills are a must. Retail experience is preferred! Vacation and sick time, health/dental, ESOP and other benefits for F/T employees. Fun atmosphere, great customers.
