Tom Balding Dr Tom Loose Ring Bit
Tom Balding Dr Tom Loose Ring Bit is a western training bit with double jointed mouthpiece and center link that resembles a Dr. Bristol mouth. The Dr. Tom version has a unique curved shape that helps spread pressure across the tongue. The overall design allows wraparound pressure on the bars of the mouth. Dr. Tom Loose Ring Bit from Tom Balding is a transition bit, great for progressing a horse from snaffle to a curb. The loose ring bit is made with cold rolled steel, also called sweet iron. This metal is more porous than stainless steel, allowing the formation of rust. The harmless rust is tasty to the horse and encourages chewing and salivating.
This bit is part of the Tom Balding Baseline collection of useful bits that are attractively priced and boast the handmade quality riders appreciate. Baseline bits are the choice of riders who want function plus superior craftsmanship for everyday use. Please note that Tom Balding Baseline bits do NOT have copper inlay in the mouthpiece.
