Mikmar Jointed Slanted Pelham
The Mikmar Double Jointed Slanted mouthpiece offers riders the Mikmar double jointed style mouthpiece positioned at a slant. This slanted position results in less leverage than the standard double jointed mouthpiece. It is more forgiving and protects the horse's mouth from over-active hands. Mikmar Pelham Bit has 4 inch cheeks or 5 inch cheeks. Sizes: 5, 5.25, 5.5 (5" generally fits a horse with a smaller muzzle and mouth. 5.25" fits most horses. 5.5" is best for larger breeds like large Warmbloods or Draft crosses)

The original Mikmar Training Bit was invented by all-around horseman, Trainer Frank Evans. Evans created an all-around bit for everyday use by amateur riders and professionals that would put pressure on the most responsive pressure points while maintaining a soft, fresh mouth over time. In addition, the Mikmar Training Bit proved a great transition bit from a snaffle to a shank or leveraged bit. Most satisfying to Evans was the fact that the Mikmar Bit protects the horse's mouth when a new rider learns to ride. From these early beginnings, the Mikmar Bit line has grown in scope and popularity to encompass a wide range of bits for suitable for all riding disciplines and available at Mary's Tack.
