The magnetic closure of the MDC Junior SuperSafe Stirrups remains closed until the swing arm safety mechanism is activated. The forward-facing patented ‘S’ Design slows the tendency of a stirrup to turn back and grab the boot. This is Proactive Safety. If the rider's boot is caught and dragged at the 11 or 1 o’clock position of the stirrup, the safety swing arm releases the caught boot. This is Reactive Safety. A wide arch helps release the toe of the boot if caught at the 12 o'clock stirrup position. Ultra-low profile aluminum treads have high traction, but are spike-free to expedite a quick foot release.
