HKM Sports Equipment, under the leadership of Klaus Egbers, focuses on modern, youthful horse and equestrian products with high quality and affordable prices. The Egbers family has a company history with a bit of a surprising start.
In 1967 Klaus' father, Hans Egbers, founded a company that manufactured cloth diapers. He and his wife also managed a large riding school. As these things happen, they began sewing horse textiles like saddle pads and coolers. The equine products eventually eclipsed the diapers. By the late 1980s, they manufactured horse items for direct mail order sales.
At the end of the 1990s, HKM clarified its vision and focus to the high quality, affordable horse and rider items you enjoy today. Their goal is to constantly improve while maintaining a youthful spirit and way of thinking. HKM makes horse boots, ear bonnets, breeches, casual barn apparel, show apparel, and yes, saddle pads, in stylish colors with technical materials. Today, HKM distributes merchandise only to specialty retailers like Mary's Tack & Feed.
