Breyer Theo Ardennes Draft Horse
Handsome Theo the Ardennes Draft Horse will be an imposing addition to your Breyer horse herd! The Ardennais breed is one of the oldest of the draft breeds, its ancestry originating in the French/Belgian Ardennes region over 2000 years ago. Surprisingly, the Ardennes horse is shorter than most draft horses and is typically in the 15-16 hand range. They are bred for power with heavy bones, thick legs, and big muscles and can weigh up to 2200 pounds.

Breyer Theo Ardennes represents a rich equine history. The Ardennes region features rugged terrain so these big horses needed to be physically capable of the work at hand. They were popular war horses, work horses, and proved invaluable for transporting military equipment. The breed was a favorite of Napoleon and served in many European campaigns. Theo the Ardennes Draft Horse is a new Breyer sculpture and one of the first to feature new foil packaging.
