Professional's Choice started making products for horses in 1986. Dal and Nina Scott called the new equine business Professional's Choice Sports Medicine Products to reflect their commitment to improving safety and health for horses. The premier product was the Professional's Choice Original Sports Medicine Boot that debuted in 1990.
Professional's Choice grew and innovated over the years. The SMx Air-Ride Saddle Pad, SMB Elite Sports Medicine Boot, and VenTECH products are well-known and appreciated by riders and their horses. Professional's Choice now offers a huge array of Western tack, English tack, fly protection sheets and masks, bits, spurs, saddle pads, and Tail Tamer brushes.
The company is dedicated to researching ways to create products and improve existing ones for better performance. They have partnered with professionals like Bob Avila and Gina Miles to fit the needs of every horse in multiple disciplines with a focus on safety and well-being. Their philosophy is "The more comfortable the horse the better the performance”, which horsemen know is accurate!
For many years Professional's Choice proudly manufactured products with highly skilled local craftsman in their El Cajon, California facility. The Southern California family business started by Dal Scott continued after he passed away in 2012. His daughter, Michele Scott, oversaw the relocation of company headquarters to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 2024.
