Prestige Italia has its roots with the Stocchetti-Rasia family, passionate equestrians who wanted to bring Italian design to the world of English tack. The first saddle they produced in 1977 was the beginning of an evolution in design and performance. Fun fact: the company name was originally Appaloosa!
Following years of research and innovation, Prestige Italia moved from a wooden tree with metal reinforcement to a synthetic fiber frame that offers resistance, elasticity, and shape retention. Prestige Italia saddle trees carry a lifetime warranty. Prestige Italia also pioneered the use of soft yet durable Swiss leather instead of English leather that requires more time to break in. By the 1980s, Prestige was raising its profile in the European equestrian world. Their darker brown saddles, now so common, were unusual at the time. Most European saddlers used lighter brown colors so the Prestige saddles were easy to distinguish from the crowd.
