Absorbine Veterinary Liniment is the cornerstone product for Absorbine, created in 1892. Based on their knowledge of herbal remedies and horses, Mary Ida and Wilbur F. Young created Absorbine Veterinary Liniment to help horses recover from soreness. Horse owners have trusted Absorbine for their horses and themselves for 125 years. The company was incorporated as W.F. Young, Inc. in 1919 and Mary Ida Young became president in 1928 after the untimely death of her son. In 1957 her daughter Sadie Stephenson Young took over. More recently, 2014 was the launch of Absorbine Pet Care with grooming and flea control products. Absorbine is continually innovating and growing, always with the horse or pet in mind. For nearly 50 years (1928-1977) the company was led by a woman, another sign of its innovative mindset.
