Did not work for us...
We tried this salve on a horse that is having trouble with sweet itch. We hoped that it would help heal the widespread rash and repel flies. We used it for 2 days - 4 applications. Although it did help soften scabs - and I believe it was soothing - it did not repel midges. The horse came in from turn out with more open spots both days. We are aware that this reaction can be caused by a variety of insects - but in central NH - the bugs don't mind this stuff. It smells great, has a lotion like consistency and goes on easily. We ended up trying Zephyr's Garden No Fly Zone and had much better results.
