The port includes a flat surface that contacts the palate while maintaining a flat surface across the tongue to support consistent contact.

AJR Intuport Flexi Pelham features a rubber-like TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) mouthpiece with wire core. This design is flexible, durable, abrasion-resistant, and strong. The slight forward angle of the mouthpiece follows the anatomy of the horse’s mouth. The Pelham cheeks combine direct rein action with leverage. When used with two reins, the upper rein acts more directly on the mouthpiece while the lower rein introduces leverage. The curb chain applies pressure to the chin and jaw as the reins engage. The Intuport Flexi Pelham Bit combines tongue relief, reinforced flexibility, and versatile leverage options. Due to the mouthpiece material, this bit is not eligible for Mary's Bit Trial.
