I use this bit on my Thoroughbred eventer for our galloping sets and conditioning hill work, as well as for cross-country schooling. He tends to get heavy on the forehand and needs firm halt-half "brake" checks to come back before fences or for downward transitions. This bit is great for that and keeps him from leaning so hard and curling under at the bit. I also much prefer this sleek design over the cheaper models with the clunkier cheekpieces that stick out and attach weirdly to the cheekpieces and reins. I also prefer the slimness of the mouthpiece in this design over cheaper models. High-quality product; definitely worth the premium price tag!
