Fager Gustav Sweet Iron Universal
Fager Gustav Sweet Iron Universal bit has a unique design that can be used two ways on your horse. For tongue relief, use the bit normally with the Fager horse logo on the right side. For bar relief, turn the bit upside down. The single jointed mouthpiece will not push against the palate or impact the mouth negatively when used upside down. It simply increases tongue pressure and decreases bar pressure. A horse needing tongue relief may evade or fuss with the bit, try to put his tongue over the bit, or has an inconsistent connection. A horse needing bar relief may be stiff, bites or drops the bit, falls behind, or does not seek contact.
- Sweet iron 14mm mouth

The Gustav Universal bit has Fager's Baby Fulmer cheeks plus Universal Rings. The patented Baby Fulmer design keeps the mouthpiece and rings stable. The ends are curved so they won't press against the horse's face. The universal rings add the amount of leverage you want. Placing the reins on the bottom ring instead of the middle ring will increase the leverage and gag effect. The sweet iron mouthpiece discolors as it oxidizes, creating an appealing taste for your horse. Rinse and dry the bit after use to prevent uneven rust buildup. Fager recommends using Fager Secure Clasps and the Fager Curb Chain to distribute pressure across mouth, chin, and poll. The Fager Gustav Sweet Iron Universal is eligible for Mary's Bit Rental Program. Click now for details!
