The innovative plastic mouthpiece is reinforced with flexible steel cable. An integrated design of the mouthpiece and plastic dee rings prevents squeezing and pinching. The waves on the Acavallo Wave Sensitive Bit are ridges that serve several purposes. They discourage the horse from leaning on the bit, disperse pressure for a balanced feel, and even encourage the horse to chew and salivate. The mouthpiece is narrower in the center, following the shape of the tongue.

Acavallo bit uses a hypoallergenic plastic for both mouthpiece and cheeks that reduces weight for a light feel in the mouth. The Wave Sensitive Bit is suitable for horses that have become desensitized to bits, are too strong, or are just learning to balance themselves.
