Waldhausen Leather Lunging Surcingle is versatile training tack for use when lunging your horse. Horse training surcingle features softly padded leather and 12 stainless steel rings for lots of options. Black. Horse/Full size: the length from top billet hole to top billet hole, along the inside (the portion that would lay across the horse's back) is about 60". The girth it comes with is about 15", buckle to buckle.
This is very heavy duty surcingle, with all-leather band, billets, and girth. It's working just fine so far, although its hard to buckle the billets because they're so stiff -- the leather is doubled. I'm sure this will get easier with use. I have the billets on the first hole both sides because my 15'1 Morgan isn't very large around the middle (71-72"). The integrated pad is split at the withers, which helps it stay put even though it isn't cranked down tight. If I need to make it tighter at some point, I'll either need to find a shorter girth (not likely) or add padding. Compared to the others I've looked at, this is a very good price for the quality.
I had the hardest time finding a surcingle with enough rings to use for long lining. This works well and didn’t break the bank. Once it’s broken in I may need to add some holes to tighten it enough for my skinny pony, but it’s also big enough for my very round warm blood. Great customer service from Mary’s!
